Israel attack on Gaza school clear ceasefire violation: Hamas

TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – The Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas has condemned the Israeli army’s attack on a school sheltering displaced people in eastern Gaza City, describing it as a blatant violation of the ceasefire.

Hamas said in a statement that the Israeli occupation army’s attack on a school housing displaced civilians in the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City constitutes a clear breach of the ceasefire.

According to the statement, the Israeli cabinet has continued to deliberately target civilians in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of more than 400 Palestinians in the more than two months since the ceasefire was announced. Hamas said these actions have continued amid the silence and inaction of the international community.

The Resistance movement also stressed that Israeli forces have worsened the humanitarian crisis by preventing ambulances and medical teams from reaching attack sites and obstructing rescue and relief operations, describing such actions as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

Hamas called on mediators and the United States to fulfill their responsibilities and intervene immediately to curb attempts by Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet to impose conditions that contradict the ceasefire agreement and openly violate its terms.

According to data released by Gaza’s Health Ministry, the number of victims of Israeli crimes since October 7, 2023 has reached 70,669 killed and 171,165 wounded.

The data also show that since the ceasefire was announced on October 10, 2025, the death toll has risen to 400, with 1,088 people injured, while the number of bodies pulled out from under the rubble has reached 634.
